We were delighted to have a visit yesterday from an old friend, the evangelist Jack Hay from Perth.
In the afternoon Bible Teaching meeting Jack spoke from Colossians 4 concentrating his remarks on the practical lessons for Christian living contained in the first 6 verses.
In the evening Gospel service Jack again spoke from the letter to the Colossians but this time in chapter 1.

Believing is Seeing
Ken and Craig were responsible for the Gospel meeting last night. Ken read John 6 vs36-40 and spoke on the fact that people were able to witness the miracles and hear the teaching of the Lord Jesus and yet the Lord could say to them "you have seen me, and believe not"!
Craig followed with a number of scriptures from John's gospel that illustrate that where God is concerned 'seeing is not believing', but through faith 'believing is seeing' - see John 11 vs40.

Ch 1v3; Ch 3v14; Ch 8v1; Ch 33v22; Ch 37v1; Ch 40v1

C: Matthew 11v28 - "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest"
Ken followed up with some thoughts in a similar vein.

Last Sunday afternoon, the Bible Teaching meeting was taken by a visiting speaker - Ian Jackson from Eastbourne. Ian is in the area having gospel meetings at Kinross Gospel Hall.
Ian read from John's Gospel chapter 1 verse 14 "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth". He spoke on the deity of the Lord Jesus and on the reality of His manhood.
